Child Care Basic Training Grading System

We are proud to say that our online Child Care Basics training was designed to meet all state requirements for online STARS courses.

You can complete training with us confident that the course meets the highest guidelines, and that the certificate will be valued for quality training.

The STARS Child Care Basic training is a pass/fail course.

In order to pass this training, this is what you must do:
  • Complete the Required Reading
  • Watch assigned Videos
  • Complete the Discussion Questions
  • Participate in the Student Forum Discussion Board
  • Read and completed related worksheets for the Handouts
  • Sufficiently complete Additional Learning and Assessment Tools
  • Achieve 70% or better on end of module Quiz's
  • Obtain a STARS ID number
  • Submit an Evaluation Form with a valid STARS ID number

The intentions of this training are to provide the student with an introduction to child care in Washington State. The expectation is that the student will demonstrate a progression of competence throughout the training and through subsequent STARS continuing education training

Washington State Dept. of Early Learning has new requirements for STARS training, as well as new regulations for trainers and training accountability.

If you have a unique circumstance, such as a language barrier or special needs, we will require that your director send us an email letting us know that there is a specific reason for special accommodations. Family child care providers should provide us with this information themselves.
